SASA Mock Shaadi on April 27th!

tl;dr: SASA is hosting a mock shaadi on April 27th at CAF! Register here: https://forms.gle/FYtDKvJUwv1kpGLS9

Get ready for an unforgettable night of celebration and festivities at the upcoming Mock Shaadi on April 27th at the Carl A. Fields center! We will have food, decor, henna, music, a photo booth, and more!

For those who are not familiar with the term, a shaadi is a traditional South Asian wedding ceremony, and a mock shaadi is a fun and exciting event that mimics the customs and traditions of a real wedding, but without the actual wedding vows.

SASA’s mock shaadi will be a night full of music, dancing, and cultural celebration. The event is open to all students and will be held at CAF, from 8 pm – late.

This event is a great opportunity for students to come together and celebrate South Asian culture, and offers a great chance to experience and learn about its traditions and customs.

So, mark your calendars for April 27th. Traditional attire is not required by any means, but if you have it, feel free to dress up! You don’t want to miss this exciting event filled with food, fun, and cultural celebration!

Pani Puri + Lassi Social!

Our annual Pani Puri + Mango Lassi Study Break event was a huge success! Held on Sunday, February 19th 2023 in Frist MPR, we had a big turnout for this fun and delicious celebration of Indian street food and refreshing drinks.

We offered Pani Puri and Mango Lassi to students that visited. Pani Puri’s crispy, hollow puri shells were filled with a mixture of spicy mashed potatoes, chickpeas, and chutney, and then filled with a tangy and spicy tamarind water, creating an explosion of flavors in students’ mouths. To complement the spicy and savory Pani Puri, we also served Mango Lassi, a sweet and creamy yogurt-based drink made with fresh mango puree and yogurt. This drink was a refreshing and delicious way to balance out the spicy flavors of the Pani Puri.

Overall, our Pani Puri + Mango Lassi Study Break event was a great opportunity for students to hang out and enjoy some South Asian treats! We’re so glad that so many people came out to join us.
